E.C Assignment 5

1.) Nutgraph= Bike stealing is becoming a prominent problem on this campus.
2.) A local news feature I could do about the selection would be "Are you prepared to vote for the November 2, 2010 election?" My news peg would be "Voters have a variety of candidates to choose from for the upcoming election". My nutgraph would be "The November 2010 election is rapidly approaching".
3. a.) Cruises have been popular with newlyweds. Now the number of newlyweds getting married on cruises is growing. They also take their entire wedding party for the romatic getaway.
According to the Cruise Lines International Association, cruise weddings have increased by 60 percent in the last decades. Carnival Cruise Lines expects 2,200 couples will marry on their ships and are willing to pay between $1,1195-$1,795 for the entire trip.
b.) The B-roll I would begin with is a scene from an actual cruise wedding taking place

1.) The steps involved in writing a story are pre writing, writing, editing, proofreading, and publishing.
2.) When writing a story, what could be challenging is beginning the story; coming up with a story lead that is catching and that will not only grasp the audience's attention but hold the audience's attention. The resources I might use to overcome these challenges are knowing what is appealing to most readers so that they would read the material.
3.) The values that are inherent in the news are: Conflict, Timeliness, Prominence, Proximity, Oddity, Impact, and Human interest.
